Flagship Initiative

Identra Cares
Digital Future
Initiative

A structured, school-focused program that donates laptops and educational tablets to public schools across Ghana — building digital infrastructure that serves entire communities for years.

About the Initiative

School-Based. Infrastructure-Focused. Long-Term Impact.

The Identra Cares – Digital Future Initiative is built on a foundational principle: technology access should be institutional, not individual. When a school receives devices, every student who walks through those doors benefits — today and in the future.

We partner with public and community schools that have the administrative capacity to manage and protect donated devices, prioritising schools in underserved districts where the digital divide is most acute.

Each donation cohort goes through a four-phase process: assessment, procurement, donation, and post-deployment monitoring — ensuring every device delivered is used, maintained, and generating educational value.

Laptop Donations

HP EliteBooks, Lenovo ThinkPads, and Dell Latitudes — refurbished to Grade A standard. Pre-installed with educational software including Khan Academy Lite, GCompris, and national curriculum tools.

Tablet Deployments

iPad (9th gen) and Samsung Galaxy Tab A series deployed in primary schools. Locked to educational apps, offline-capable content, and age-appropriate learning environments.

Institution-Only Model

Devices are registered to the school — not issued to individuals. This prevents loss, ensures shared access, and builds a durable tech ecosystem within the institution.

Regional Prioritisation

Regions with the lowest computer-to-student ratios get priority. We work with district education offices to identify the schools where our intervention has the highest multiplier effect.

Our Process

Four Phases. Zero Shortcuts.

Our rigorous process ensures every donation creates sustainable, measurable value.

Phase 1

Assessment & School Selection

Identify eligible schools based on enrollment size, ICT readiness, and regional priority. Conduct site visits and evaluate power, security, and staff capacity.

4–6 weeks per cohort
Phase 2

Device Procurement & Configuration

Source and procure quality devices from verified vendors. Pre-install educational software, configure user accounts, and apply asset-tracking labels.

3–4 weeks
Phase 3

Donation Event & Orientation

Conduct formal handover events with school leadership, GES representatives, and community stakeholders. Train teachers on device management and integration.

1–2 days per school
Phase 4

Post-Donation Monitoring

Bi-annual visits to track device utilization, condition, and educational impact. Schools submit quarterly usage reports. Data feeds into our impact dashboard.
